Global Bamboo and Rattan Congress 2018
The first Global Bamboo and Rattan Congress kicked off on 25th, June at China National Convention Center, Beijing. Premier Li Keqiang extended a congratulatory message to the Congress. Hao Mingjin, vice chairman of the Standing Committee of the National People's Congress of China attended the opening ceremony and made a speech.
At the Congress, apart from one ministerial summit and three large plenaries, there were over 70 side sessions based on themes such as the UN 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development, South-South cooperation, Belt and Road Initiative, Climate Change, Technology Innovation and Green Economy and so on. More than 1500 representatives, coming from member states of The International Bamboo and Rattan Organization (INBAR), relevant international organizations and non-governmental organizations，research organizations，universities and enterprises, attended this three-day Congress.
